A water snaffle is an ideal bit for use with beginners. The pressure is increased on the loading of the horse's mouth so that there is little pressure on the tongue. The bit is often used with young horses or horses that are very sensitive in the mouth. The Lock Up System ensures that the broken sections tilt in the horse's mouth and thus become a bar. This shifts the pressure more evenly to the loading and tongue.
